Dear Vasavites
NRIVA Boston Chapter invites you and your families to the 17th consecutive Vasavi Jayanthi pooja celebrations on May19th 2024 starting 9:00 AM EDT at Shri Dwarakamai Temple in Billerica, MA.
Pooja Event Details:
The following rituals will be performed during Pooja:
- Sankalpam
- Ganesha Pooja
- Abhishekam
- Alankaram
- Kanya Pooja
- Kumkum Archana
- Maha Harathi
- Mantra Pushpam
- Mangala Harathi
All families will be sitting in a row and performing pooja to individual Ammavari idol.
Kanya Pooja:
All Kanyas also will be sitting in a row and will perform kumkum pooja with small idols.

Fee:
The participation fee is $51 per family to cover event expenses including contribution to temple, poojari dakshina, worship material and maha prasadam.
Materials:
The following items will be provided by the organizers to each family to perform pooja:
1. Small Ammavari idol (Please bring it if you already have it)
2. Pooja material (Pasupu, Kumkuma, Akshintalu, fruits, flowers and any other necessities)
Dress code:
Traditional dress suitable for pooja occassions.
What should you bring:
About 10-inch diameter plate
Uddarini and Panchapatra
Ammavari Idol (First time devotees/new comers will be provided with an idol to take home and use it for subsequent years)
Small kitchen towel (we will provide paper napkins)
NOTE: Please consider eco-friendly options to worship ammavaru on this occassion.
Miscellaneous:
Devotees will be seated in the order they checked in at the front desk. Front desk volunteers will provide a number indicating where to sit.
We are conducting the Food drive during Vasavi Jayanthi event. We request you to bring non-perishable still in original packing food items (pasta, sauce, jam, beans etc.). The contributed items will be donated to a local Charity.
