Topic: Research 101 - How to conduct Research of an innovative idea and compete in science fair and other competitions
Presenters: Dr. Srinivas Kota, Ph.D
Senior Research scientist, Department of Neurosurgery
University of Texas Southwestern Medical center, Dallas, Texas
Srinivas Kota completed his master's and doctoral degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He held research positions in the Department of Psychology at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, Institute of Rehabilitation and Engineering at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Lincoln, and Fetal Medicine Institute at Children's National Hospital, Washington. He is currently a Senior Research Scientist in Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX. His research mainly focuses on distinguishing physiological signal patterns in identifying the clinical condition and develop tools that could help to improve the quality of life individuals with chronic health conditions. He co-authored several papers and conference proceedings in biomedical engineering, pattern recognition, pediatrics and neuroscience journals. He served as a reviewer for several biomedical engineering journals and conferences.
