Chairman's Message

Namasthy,

I feel honored to represent the NRIVA as the Chairman for the 2020-2021 term. It is a true privilege to be among the dedicated and passionate members of our organization, who strive to uplift and celebrate our community.

Before the NRIVA was founded in 2007 by Anand Garlapati garu and Vijay Chavva garu, the nearly 10,000 Vasavite families in the USA lived independently of one another and relied on local gatherings to connect with other like-minded members of the community.  This has since changed and, thanks to the NRIVA’s commitment of “Connecting to Serve”, networking with other Vasavites has never been easier. Through the NRIVA, the Vasavi community has been able to join together and leverage our communal knowledge and experience to serve ourselves and others.

We are a powerful and diverse community, excelling in all areas from business to film, and from the sciences to the arts. This expertise coupled with the dedication and passion of our Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Chapter Leads, and the strong volunteer base across the nation makes me proud of how far we have come as a community, and eager to see the ways we will continue to grow.

We are ready to start off the 2020-2021 term and introduce the new and motivated administration at the Kick-Off meeting in Chicago from January 31st-February 2nd, 2020. Every conversation will be contributing to setting the tone and direction for our journey these next two years, as we continue to live up to our motto of “Dharmam, Seelam, Ahimsa”.

We are nothing without each other. The accomplishments of the NRIVA would not be possible without the individual support and dedication of each and every member of the organization. I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together as our community continues to uphold and honor our traditions, strives to excel in this nation and others, and realizes new potential.

Thank you, and let Vasavi Matha’s blessing be bestowed upon every one of us.

Sincerely,
Jayasimha Sunku,
Chairman, NRIVA
